Traveling Abroad

I am getting ready to retire and travel. I have been told to buy international travel insurance as some countries don't take US medical insurance. I hope to take my motorcycle with me and have purchased a motorcycle mount for my GPS system. What do I need to know about driving my motorcycle across borders in Europe? Is it even allowed. Thanks!
